Frequently Asked Questions

Handmade resin gifts and fluid art jewellery

Please contact us if you have any questions that are not answered below.

How long will my order take?

Orders can take up to 10 working days to make due to the time it takes resin to fully cure and depending on the level of customisation required. Lead times may vary at different times of the year or due to circumstances beyond our reasonable control. Orders will then be posted out via Royal Mail. Local collection and delivery can be arranged, please contact us to discuss. If an item is required for a certain date then please let us know and we will do our best to accommodate the request and prioritise your order.

What is resin?

Resins are a class of reactive prepolymers and polymers. The cured product is a result of when the resin is mixed with a hardener and a chemical reaction is set in motion and the material is converted from a liquid state into a solid/cured state. They possess tough mechanical properties, good chemical resistance and high adhesive strength, which makes it highly useful for various applications.

We use GlassCast 50 and Craft Resin depending on the product we are making. All the resins we use are highly UV stable to minimise yellowing, odourless and VOC free.

GlassCast50 is a casting resin that we use for deeper pours. It is heat resistant up to 55°C.

We use Craft Resin for our coaster sets and other products, which is resistant to scratches, water and heat up to 95°C.

Please ensure you note what resin the product is made of before purchasing to ensure it is appropriate for your required use. With each purchase we include a leaflet on how to look after the product.

Do you offer refunds?

We are unable to offer refunds on any custom or personalised orders. If any items arrive damaged or are lost in delivery then either a replacement or refund will be issued.

Can I change or cancel my order?

Due to the customised nature of the products we offer once your order has been processed we are not able to change or cancel your order.

How much is postage?

Postage is calculated on checkout depending on product ordered and location. We use Royal Mail 1st or 2nd Class delivery. We cannot guarantee specific delivery dates or times. In the unlikely event you do not receive your order within 14 days of the despatch date then please contact us at info@frenchiearts.co.uk

My product arrived damaged, what should I do?

Please contact us through our website or via email at info@frenchiearts.co.uk straight away with a description and image of the damaged product and we will be in touch as quickly as possible. Please ensure to take a picture of any damaged packaging.

Are your products all handmade?

Yes, all our products are handmade by us in our home workshop in Berkshire.

Due to the nature of the materials used and the length of time it can take the product to fully cure, unavoidable imperfections such as air bubbles may occur, although we make every effort to minimise these. This just makes our products imperfectly perfect and unique!

There will be slight differences in products from what you see in photographs on our website. We do not do mass production therefore each product cannot be 100% the same every time, colours and patterns will vary.

How do I clean and maintain my product?

Products can be cleaned using a micro fibre cloth and warm water. Minor scratches and scuffs that occur with use and over time can be polished out to restore the item back to its original finish. It is best to keep resin products out of direct sunlight as prolonged exposure can cause discolouration and degradation of the resin over time. We would also advise keeping products away from direct heat sources such as a fireplace to avoid damaging the resin.

Are your products dishwasher safe?

No, none of our products are dishwasher safe. Products can be cleaned using a micro fibre cloth and warm water.

Are your products waterproof?

No. Resin products are water resistant so please do not submerge your products in water and if using any of our products for plants then please ensure they are in sealed pots so water cannot seep through to the product as it will degrade and damage the product over time.

Can I put hot drinks on your coasters?

The resin we use for our coaster sets is resistant up to 95°C. However, we would recommend not placing any hot drinks on them for at least 2 weeks after you receive them to allow them to fully cure and reach their maximum heat resistance.

Are your products environmentally friendly?

We use reusable products wherever possible to minimise waste when making our products. We use recycled paper for packaging and bags.
